Dec. 1, 2002
A new eighth-brick sized, isolated DC/DC converters can deliver up to 15A at 3.3V and below and 50W and above without a heatsink. The PowerQor Mega series has the same pin-out as the industry standard quarter-brick and offers a low profile as well.

A new eighth-brick sized, isolated DC/DC converters can deliver up to 15A at 3.3V and below and 50W and above without a heatsink. The PowerQor Mega series has the same pin-out as the industry standard quarter-brick and offers a low profile as well. The EML series has a 48V nominal input (35V to 75V range) and meets input voltage transient requirements up to 100V for 100 ms. Employing the newly established industry standard eighth-brick footprint and pin-out, the converters measure 0.9'' x 2.3'' x 0.37''. The converters occupy only 60% of the board space of a standard quarter-brick, but deliver full power up to 70ºC with no airflow (2.5V and below). The EML eighth-brick converter series will be offered at 3.3V, 2.5V, 1.8V and 1.5V initially, with additional output voltages of 1.2V and 5V to follow. It is currently offered for through-hole mounting. The EML converters include control and protection features, such as on/off control, voltage trim, remote sense, short-circuit protection, output OPV, and a 2,000 Vdc isolation rating. Pricing is $42.50 each in OEM quantities. SYNQOR, Hudson, MA. (888) 567-9596.
