Orlando, Florida: Calling it the dawn of a new era of microcontroller (MCU) development, Freescale Semiconductor has announced the Kinetis family of 90-nm, 32-bit MCUs based on the new ARM Cortex-M4 processor. This family will be one of the most scalable portfolios of low-power, mixed-signal ARM Cortex-M4 processor-based MCUs in the industry Freescale says.
Over the next 12 months, seven Kinetis MCU families will be introduced with more than 200 pin-, peripheral-, and software-compatible devices. Designers will be able to combine these MCUs with a selection of human-machine interface (HMI), connectivity, and safety and security peripherals. Also, designers will be able to select from multiple performance and memory options.
