Looking for that Old Copy of Electronic Design?

Sept. 23, 2022
Editor Bill Wong goes searching through the Electronic Design archives.

It's Electronic Design's 70th anniversary, so the publication is a bit older than me but not by much. I have been with Electronic Design as an editor for over 20 years, and I've collected quite a few issues over that time. I switched to digital only for storage reasons a while back, but the image above shows off a few of my old issues. They may turn out to be useful, as I need to update some of the articles on our website that got lost along the way as we migrated from web platform to web platform.

We don't have 70 years of Electronic Design online, though we do have more than a decade available to you. And we just made it a little easier to download copies of the latest issues. To do so, you need to be a registered member, but registration is free. This not only gets you access to the archive issues of Electronic Design, but a bunch of other technical PDF eBooks as well as other content

We have been posting PDF versions of our print edition for a long time. However, beforehand, if you wanted to download a whole year's worth, it took a little patience and a bit of mouse clicking to get to the pages where the PDF files could be downloaded. This had more to do with our web platform that wants to put one PDF file per web page. If you wanted half a dozen or more PDF files, you needed to click to each page and then click the download button.

Now you can grab a whole year's worth of issues off one page for the years 2020, 2021, and 2022. Of course, you need to log in first to access the PDF links on those pages. There are links for viewing the articles of each issue online. in case you don't want to download the PDF or just want to check things out before you download the files.

You can always find the digital archive link in the hamburger menu (upper left corner); the archive is listed in the Resources page. You also might like our TechXchange digital issues that target hot technical topics.
