By taking advantage of Vishay Precision Group’s Bulk Metal Foil technology, the company’s latest series of ultra-high-precision wraparound chip resistors can handle high-temperature applications up to +200°C. The surface-mount Bulk Metal Z1-Foil (FRST) resistors provide a load-life stability of 0.02% ΔR after 2000 hours of rated power at 175°C, 0.015% typical ΔR after 1000 hours at 85°C/85% relative humidity, and a TCR of ±2.5 ppm/°C from −55°C to +175°C (25°C ref). The main advantage of the next-generation Z1-Foil technology is an increased insensitivity to temperature changes. A solid monolithic alloy element is matched to the substrate, forming a single interdependent structure with balanced temperature characteristics. Chip sizes range from 0603 to 2512 (six in all), and resistance ranges from 5Ω to 125 kΩ. Applications include industrial, military, automotive, and others that require resistors to have a minimal drift from their initial values when operating above +175°C and in humid environments.
