DNB Engineering

Military Transition Modules

Transition Modules for military shelters combine EMI filtering and transient protection for hard-wired communication links and COTS interfaces. They incorporate high-frequency EMI filtering and TVS lightning and transient energy protection to provide filtered DC power, RS-232, and Ethernet communications. The modules support up to 5 Gb/s Ethernet transmission speed through the company’s filtered RJ45 connectors and provide 0 to 5 A DC current, 0 to 500 VDC, a typical insertion loss of >45 dB, and D-sub filtering of 10 pF to 47,000 pF per line. They meet MIL-STD-461 and RTCA-DO-160 requirements for EMI/EMC.

EMI Solutions

Static Eliminator

The Long Super Ion Air Knife™ neutralizes static electricity while blowing away dust and particulates from printed surfaces, paper, plastics, and 3-D shapes up to 96” across and up to 20 feet away. The ionizer uses approximately 5 psig to move high volumes of compressed air, and the force can be adjusted. The ion air knives are available in 60”, 72”, 84”, and 96” lengths; there are no moving parts. A factory-installed plumbing kit is available for connecting to a plant’s compressed air system. The shockless design is UL component-recognized to U.S. and Canadian safety standards.

EXAIR

Conductive Corrugated Containers

Conductive corrugated plastic containers made of ESD-safe materials come in more than 6,000 sizes, 20 styles, and several colors. The list of styles includes hopper-front dividable containers, basic style hopper-front containers, stackable hopper-front containers, straight-wall dividable containers, nestable containers, horizontal carousel containers, heavy-duty stackable containers, cases, delivery containers, and pizza-style fold-together containers. Partitions that can help protect products and maximize storage density are available. The company also can custom-configure most containers by size, style, and color and with foam cushioning to help prevent product damage in transit.

Flexcon

Conductive Foam Gasketing

CFS Shielding Material for die-cut finishing operations is manufactured of nickel-copper polyurethane foam layered between two pieces of conductive polyester fabric. The gaskets offer a typical shielding effectiveness of 60 dB from 10 MHz to 3 GHz. The conductive foam exhibits a compression load of 2.1 psi at 30% compression and has an operational temperature range from -40°F to +156°F. The material comes in 0.04”, 0.06”, 0.09”, and 0.125” thicknesses. A standard conductive, pressure-sensitive adhesive facilitates installation.
