As in other regions, the trend toward rapid growth in modular instruments, especially PXI, is occurring in China as Chinese customers look for flexibility and automation. Among standalone instruments, growth potential in China presents itself in high-end applications in which performance specs, including bandwidth, frequency range, and accuracy, take precedence over price. Communications test represents a particularly promising market, but opportunities for test equipment vendors span other markets as well, with aerospace/defense being particularly significant but with the expanding use of home electronics offering potential as well.
On Thursday December 8 at 10 a.m. EST, I will be joining Frost & Sullivan industry analyst Wei Wei and industry director Jessy Cavazos for a short teleconference about Frost & Sullivan research into the Chinese market for general-purpose test equipment, followed by a live question-and-answer session.
