DC/DC converter

The LTM8003 step-down DC/DC µModule regulator offers a 40-V input voltage rating and 3.5 A of continuous (6-A peak) output current. The LTM8003’s pinout is failure-mode effects analysis compliant so the output voltage stays at or below the regulation voltage in the event of short-circuit to GND or short-circuit to a neighboring pin or if a pin is left floating. The maximum junction temperature of the H-grade version is 150°C, suitable for high-temperature or high-power automotive and industrial applications.

The LTM8003 operates from an input voltage range of 3.4 V to 40 V and has an adjustable output voltage range of 0.97 V to 18 V. The switching frequency is set via an external resistor or can be synchronized to an external clock from 200 kHz to 3 MHz. Linear Technology

Smartphone audio test app

Smartphone Audio Test App 2.1 for Android supports versions 4, 5, and 6 as well as Android N Developer Preview 5. The app allows fast, automated evaluation of new phones and tablets, including hands-free Bluetooth audio test without requiring the initiation of a phone call.

From component development to mobile product design and evaluation, the Android app is fully integrated with and able to harness the versatility of the vendor’s APx audio measurement software and analyzers. For Bluetooth audio measurement scenarios, the app supports Advanced Audio Distribution Profile downlink testing as well as hands-free profile downlink and uplink testing, both wide- and narrowband. High-density switch matrix

The EX1200-SMP high-density switch matrix platform for the vendor’s EX1200 Series multifunction switch/measure units features 16 integrated analog backplane lines, which reduce the need for external cabling that typically degrades signal integrity.

System designers can create 16xN matrices and easily bridge together multiple carriers to make even larger matrices, with up to 704×8 two-wire inputs in a single chassis. Increased board space allows for efficiency and performance gains for mixed-signal applications in mechanical data acquisition and electronic test environments.

The EX1200-SMP supports system configurations for switching applications that require the flexibility of a crosspoint matrix topology. The four-slot main carrier can be plugged into any four slots of an EX1208A mainframe (pictured). One to four carriers can be accommodated in a single mainframe with the capability to mix and match with standard EX1200 series switch cards. VTI Instruments

Beryllium copper contact rings

Now available in high-volume quantities, the vendor’s beryllium copper contact rings are fabricated from many standard finger stock profiles as well as from custom specifications. Rings can be formed in any diameter containing an integral number of fingers down to the minimum diameter to which that particular strip can be curled. Contact rings are offered for both inside (female) or outside (male) plug applications and with a range of in-house plating options.

Beryllium copper has excellent durability and superior attenuation for EMI/RFI shielding. Rings are suitable for microwave-cavity, tuning, shielding, and grounding applications. The vendor manufactures a complete line of standard and custom shielding products for both the commercial and military markets. Tech-Etch

Laser interferometer

The latest addition to the Verifire line of laser-interferometer and optical-testing products is configured with key capabilities that establish a robust, high-quality, and flexible laser interferometer with a low cost of ownership. Its true Fizeau on-axis optical system supports its high-accuracy metrology capabilities. Patented QPSI vibration-tolerant acquisition technology provides the instrument with the capability to obtain reliable measurements in production environments.

The Verifire product includes a continuously variable optical zoom that can be operated in horizontal or vertical configurations. The system is offered in various output beam aperture sizes and supported by a range of accessories. Zygo

Two-zone top-loading oven

No. 1012 is an electrically heated, 500°F top-loading oven used for testing electronic equipment. Two zones, each 96 inches wide x 12 inches deep x 12 inches high, can be separated for use as independent ovens. 24 kW (12 kW per load) are installed in Incoloy-sheathed tubular heating elements, and two 1/3-hp recirculating blowers provide a total horizontal airflow of 1,200 cfm to the workload.

This top-loading oven features 4-inch insulated walls, an aluminized steel interior and exterior, a manually operated rear hinged door, reinforced flooring that can accommodate a load up to 500 lb, and swivel casters with swivel locks and wheel brakes. Controls onboard No. 1012 include a digital indicating temperature controller, a manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors, and a recirculating blower airflow safety switch. RF and fiber test

With the new CPRI RF module installed in the vendor’s Network Master Pro MT1000A, wireless carrier engineers and technicians responsible for optical-fiber testing and solving interference and PIM issues have a single handheld solution for accurate and efficient LTE CPRI testing and verification of the latest generation of tower-mounted remote radio heads.

The Network Master Pro MT1000A with the CPRI RF module can conduct measurements up to 10x faster than comparable handheld test solutions, Anritsu said. Additionally, end users can capture all interfering signals, including intermittent or “bursty” interferers missed by current alternatives. Incorporating a spectrum/spectrogram tune and zoom feature, the Network Master Pro MT1000A with CPRI RF module allows users to zoom in on an area of interest to provide more detailed information for better identification of an interfering signal’s origin. VNA test cables

A new family of ruggedized vector network analyzer (VNA) test cables operates up to 40 GHz and boasts a maximum phase change of ±2 degrees at 18 GHz, ±3 degrees at 26.5 GHz, and ±5 degrees at 40 GHz. This minimal phase change is essential because amplitude and phase variation following VNA calibration can cause inaccurate S-parameter measurements. To mitigate these inaccuracies, amplitude- and phase-stable cables are required to ensure precise vector network analyzer measurements.

The new phase-stable cables can be ordered with male or female versions of SMA or Type-N connectors for cables operating to 18 GHz, 2.92-mm and 3.5-mm connectors for cables operating to 26.5 GHz, or 2.4-mm and 2.92-mm connectors for test cables performing up to 40 GHz. Fairview Microwave

Power analyzer

The WT1800E precision power analyzer is suitable for testing product efficiency and the design of inverters, motor drives, lighting systems, uninterruptible power supplies, aircraft power systems, renewable energy generation products, and various power-conversion devices. The WT1800E can perform up to six power measurements simultaneously, which enables efficiency tests between the input and output of products such as inverters. The WT1800E was designed for both today’s power measurements and the advanced complex requirements of future power conversion products.

For electric-motor testing, the WT1800E offers a motor-evaluation function as an option. With a single WT1800E, you can measure all the electrical power parameters along with rotation speed, torque, mechanical power, synchronous speed, slip, motor efficiency, and total system efficiency. Yokogawa
