Is Mixing AI with Software Tools and Development a Good Idea?

Give us your views about AI with respect to software tools and development.

It's no surprise that artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) have taken the world by storm, for better or worse. How it's impacting engineers and programmers when it comes to designing, implementing, and supporting products and services is a major consideration these days, and one we would like to provide more information on.

Below is a not-too-lengthy survey we'd like you to take to provide us with feedback on what you think about AI when it comes to tools and the development process. Possibilities range from how it might be used to optimize a CPU's layout to finding coding tips and examples.

We're asking questions focusing on what you may be using and what your company allows, in addition to the level of quality, safety, and reliability that your products and solutions need to meet.

We will publish the results of the survey in a couple months and link those results from this page as well, so keep an eye out for that. You can log in (signing up for an account on the site is free), and once logged in, check out the comment section below. Also, click on the Follow button to be notified when comments are added. We will include one when the survey results are available.

On top of that, will be including additional articles and a TechXchange specifically addressing this topic. You can contribute articles if you are interested.

I earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Masters in Computer Science from Rutgers University. I still do a bit of programming using everything from C and C++ to Rust and Ada/SPARK. I do a bit of PHP programming for Drupal websites. I have posted a few Drupal modules.

I still get a hand on software and electronic hardware. Some of this can be found on our Kit Close-Up video series. You can also see me on many of our TechXchange Talk videos. I am interested in a range of projects from robotics to artificial intelligence.
