Small sub-GHz module

Microchip Technology says it has the industry’s smallest IEEE 802.15.4-compliant module that combines an ultra-low-power microcontroller with a sub-GHz radio, accelerating time to market
and providing long-lasting battery life in wireless-networked sensors. The SAM R30 module meets the needs of space-conscious designs such as home automation sensors and controls and supports proprietary networks that can be easily customized and configured. This is suitable for applications where interoperability is not desired due to their inherent vulnerability to remote attacks, such as alarm systems, building automation, smart cities, and industrial sensor networks. 24V DIN rail power supply

TDK Corporation announces the introduction of an 88W rated 24V model to the DRL series of

low-profile AC-DC DIN rail mount power supplies. The DRL100-24-1/C2 is certified as a Class 2 power supply, in accordance with NEC (per UL1310), and as a limited power source (per UL 60950 clause 2.5 requirements). The unit also has a Class II construction with double insulation for operation without an earth ground connection. Applications include building automation, security systems, industrial process control, factory automation, and test and measurement equipment. The DRL100-24-1/C2 is housed in a rugged plastic enclosure, with overall dimensions of 72mm x 91mm x 55.6mm. TDK-Lambda

75 GHz bandwidth RF socket for QFN38

Ironwood Electronics’ new QFN socket design uses high-performance elastomer capable of 75 GHz, very low inductance and wide temperature applications. The GT-QFN-3024 socket is

designed for 10.5x5.5 mm package size and operates at bandwidths up to 75 GHz with less than 1dB of insertion loss. The contact resistance is typically 20 milliohms per pin. The socket is mounted on the target PCB with no soldering and uses very small real estate, allowing capacitors/resistors to be placed close by. This socket can be used for hand test and temperature cycling as well as debugging application in development and device characterization. Ironwood Electronics

Millimeter-wave Faraday isolators

SAGE Millimeter offers the STF series full band Faraday isolators to cover the frequency range
of 18 to 220 GHz in 11 waveguide bands with 22 standard models. These isolators are constructed with a longitudinal magnetized ferrite rod to provide Faraday rotation when the RF signal is presented. Although the typical insertion loss of these isolators is slightly higher than its counterpart, the full band junction isolators (SNF series), their isolation is at least 10 dB higher, around 28 to 30 dB. In addition, the Faraday isolators cover broader frequency range, often wider than the waveguide bandwidth, and possess less insertion phase variation across the entire waveguide band. L-code PCB/panel-mount power connectors

TE Connectivity has extended its portfolio of M12 connectors to include L-code PCB/panel

types that offer a compact high-power solution for automation devices. The vendor says these new connectors take up 40% less space than mini 7/8 connectors traditionally used for high power connections. The new connectors handle currents as high as 16A per pin—the highest in TE’s M12 family—providing reliable and efficient power distribution. They are IP67-rated, which means they are protected from dust and resist water immersion at depths of up to one meter for 30 minutes. L-code PCB/panel-mount M12 power connectors are available through TE’s global distribution network. TE Connectivity

Oil or fuel level sensor simulator

Highland Technology has announced a new member of its line of precision aerospace sensor simulators. The Model P330 can simulate capacitive oil or fuel level sensors. Four independent

isolated channels can each simulate both capacitance and resistance, from 5 pF to 5000 pF and 5K ohms to over 10 Megs. The architecture also supports simulation of two tank level sensors with reference electrodes and provides sensor/cable fault simulation. The P330 allows glitch-free level simulation to 1% accuracy with 16-bit resolution on capacitance and resistance. The P330 also reports sensor excitation voltage and frequency and includes built-in self-test. Interfaces include Ethernet and USB. Compatible P-series products simulate thermocouples, RTDs, synchros, resolvers, and LVDTs. Highland Technology

Vertical rotation stage with clear aperture

Optimal Engineering Systems (OES) has released the AY110-100V Vertical Rotation Stage.
This 100 mm diameter vertical rotation stage has a 30 mm diameter clear aperture to allow for cabling, vacuum lines, clamping, and laser alignment. A precision pattern of threaded mounting is provided to easily add custom tooling. The AY110-100V Vertical Rotation Stage is suitable for metrology, positioning of mirrors and lasers, laser machining or scribing, micro robotics, scanning, electronic assembly, testing, photonics, and vision systems. Rated for a side load up to 44 pounds, the AY110 features a 180:1 precision worm drive and deep grove ball bearings for a high resolution of ± 0.001O when microstepping. OES

VNAs with 100 kHz to 40 GHz multiport architecture

The new R&S ZNBT40 from Rohde & Schwarz is a vector network analyzer with a broad frequency range from 100 kHz to 40 GHz and up to 24 integrated test ports. Developers can

use it for applications such as measurements on 5G antenna arrays. The multiport architecture is not only advantageous for tests on multiport components, but also for simultaneous testing of multiple DUTs in production to boost throughput. Rohde & Schwarz ensures specified performance on up to 24 test ports with the R&S ZNBT40. Also new is the R&S ZNBT26 for measurements up to 26.5 GHz. Rohde & Schwarz
