EMC Filter Family Rated Up to 30 A for Robotics
A family of electromagnetic-compatibility (EMC) filters from Schaffner is targeted at robotics, industrial control and automation systems, electrical and electronic equipment, as well as test and measurement.
The FN3040, FN3041, FN3042, and FN3043 filters are rated for currents of 10 to 30 A at 50°C. The tight-packaged filters are smaller than their predecessors, yet they offer better performance in different levels, along with lower leakage current. Design flexibility is one of the key features of the new parts, thanks to the embedded terminals being easy to connect and optional DIN rail mounting.
The FN304X filters are said to be suited for power grids with very tough requirements and other systems that require a special focus on safety and reliability. The pairing of plastic housing with a metal ground plate reduces the weight of the product without compromising EMC, according to Schaffner. The fixed, hinged terminal covers enhance safety by protecting against contact with live conductors.
Other features of the EMI filters, which fit into an industry-standard form factor, include leakage current between 0 and 0.40 mA depending on voltage level and inductance from 0.5 to 12.9 mH at 1 kHz.
