Introduced as part of the company's Schroff product range, a new CompactPCI (cPCI) handle meets IEEE1101.10 system-packaging requirements and is claimed to overcome widespread industry handle problems. Unlike traditional handles that both activate the microswitch and control the insertion and ejection process in hot swap applications, the new handles provide a pushbutton to activate the microswitch. The pushbutton functions independently of the handle-ejection process, preventing accidental triggering of the hot-swap switch. As an added safety feature, the button is recessed in the handle, and guard walls on both sides further prevent accidental contact with the microswitch. Pricing starts at $2.75 per handle with delivery from stock.
