If you have electronics, then there are wires either on printed circuit boards or in cabling. When it comes to high-frequency cabling, it can be a challenge when trying to keep the size to a minimum.
Molex’s Cardinal cable assemblies target this space, taking on frequencies up to 110 GHz with a 1-mm connector. They feature low attenuation and tight impedance tolerances (see figure). Stephen McGeary, Strategic Product Manager in Molex’s RF Business Unit, presented an introduction to the Cardinal family (see the video above).
The Cardinal family is often used in test-and-measurement applications as well as 5G and other wireless applications. The phase-stable, low-loss cables are also available in 2.4-, 3.5-, and 1.85-mm plug and jack configurations.
