Two dual high-performance 2-by-2 low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) crosspoint switches promise 1.5-GHz maximum operating frequency. The MAX9390 accepts LVDS, high-speed transceiver logic, and other GND-referenced input signals. The MAX9391 switch accepts low-voltage positive-emitter coupled logic, current-mode logic, and other VCC-referenced differential input signals. Each channel is independently programmed, so each can be configured as a 1:2 splitter, a 2:1 multiplexer, a dual repeater, or a 2-by-2 crosspoint switch. Low typical output-to-output skew of 10 ps suits the devices for protection switching in fault-tolerant systems. Pricing starts at $4.48 for the MAX9390 and $4.88 for the MAX9391 in 1000-unit lots.
