Oki licenses ARM technology for in-vehicle equipment

Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (www.oki.com) and ARM (www.arm.com) said that Oki has licensed the ARM926EJ-S processor for in-vehicle equipment as well as digital consumer electronics applications.

Oki Electric Industry Co. Ltd. and ARM said that Oki has licensed the ARM926EJ-S processor for in-vehicle equipment as well as digital consumer electronics applications.

"The ARM926EJ-S processor will enable us to develop system LSIs for main controllers for next-generation car navigation systems,” said Akira Kamo, president of Oki’s Silicon Solutions Company. The processor will also be used in portable digital audio equipment, and multifunction and high-performance portable AV equipment capable of playing video content.
