The STMicroelectronics STM32F2-based DEVKIT1207 evaluation kit’s range of exposed hardware peripherals includes an industrial-level 3.5-in. LCD with resistive touchscreen.

Premier Farnell’s element14 has launched the STM32F2-based DEVKIT1207 evaluation kit with STMicroelectronics. This development environment enables engineers to evaluate, prototype, and test designs built around STM32F207xx series microcontrollers.

The board’s exposed hardware peripherals include an industrial-level 3.5-in. LCD with resistive touchscreen (see the figure). For ease of use and to accelerate design productivity, Micrium’s uC/OS real-time operating system (RTOS) has been ported to the board. Also, element14 has ported FreeRTOS for LwIP Ethernet applications.

From the Knode on element14, developers can access the Micrium BSP, FreeRTOS source code, design examples, board schematics, and user manuals. The DEVKIT1207 suits a range of applications including microcontrollers, automotive, industrial control systems, and wireless networking. A G-sensor three-axis acceleration sensor is fitted for sensing applications.

The STM32F207IGT6 flash microcontroller is based on the high-performance ARM Cortex-M3 32-bit RISC core operating at up to 120 MHz, with high-speed embedded memories (1 Mbyte of flash memory and 128 kbytes of system SRAM) and 4 kbytes of backup SRAM.

The STM32F2 family is supported by the MDK-ARM 4.20 and above. A demo version of the MDK ARM 4.22a is supplied with the kit.
