Backplane Connector System Uses MT Interface

Nov. 1, 2000

With the versatility of an edge card connector, the high-density Backplane MT provides a smooth transition from printed circuit board components to the backplane using a standard MT interface. It is suited for connecting backplanes and cross connect systems in computing and telecomm equipment including transmitters, switches, multiplexers, and de-multiplexers.
The connector features a blind-mate interface for easy insertion, removal and exchange of the daughter card without disrupting the I/O ports or associated cabling. The backplane system has a low-profile, 6-mm backplane fiber exit and a 14.8 mm maximum height to ensure compatibility with 20 mm card spacing and Euro ETSI rack standards.
