Compact Thermal Printer Subassembly Works At High-Speed

June 1, 2001

Measuring just 5.0" x 5.0" x 14.5" the PSA-60 thermal printer subassembly employs the LTP-2000 printer mechanism, which delivers a print resolution of 8 dots/mm and print speeds of up to 60 mm/s. The unit also has a drop rating of three-feet to concrete, making it suitable for use in a variety of harsh outdoor environments including gasoline dispensing stations, kiosks, and vending machines. The assembly incorporates the printer mechanism, interface board, auto paper cutter, and bar code capability and is available in three models with paper-output widths of 2", 3" and 4".
Ease of installation is said to be enhanced by way of a swivel-out paper spindle arm. Other features include an operating temperature range from -30°C to 70°C, a service life of 100 million pulses, and 24 Vdc operation.
