A Size 17 five-phase hybrid step motor, a low backlash gearhead, and a compact 24 vdc board level driver comprise the CSK Series motion subsystem. Three miniature 5-phase step motors provide step-motor shaft torques that range up to 34 oz-in. and gearmotor torques up to 208 oz-in. Low shaft vibration and high accuracy operation is achieved with step motor resolutions of 0.72° per step.The addition of the low-backlash gearhead creates a geared step-motor package. The board level drive includes a heat sink and develops 0.75A per phase to drive the step motor and provides pulse and direction command signals with thermal protection.
