Mounts And Insulators Work With Capacitors

March 1, 1999

Four styles of mounts support molded and conformal coated capacitors, elevating them from board surfaces to control their positioning and preventing non-conducting solder joints and damage to leads. The leads are held to industry-standard spacing to simplify board installation, and standoffs aid removal of residual solder, flux or other contaminates during board washing. Elevations range from 0.030" to 0.600". The firm is also introducing the ECM Series of mounts and insulators for electrolytic capacitors. A slotted-cup design provides side walls that isolate and insulate the capacitor from surrounding components and circuits while enhancing ventilation. Size ranges from 5 to 35 mm in 13 configurations.
