A line of Type E vertical male 2-mm Hard Metric (HM) connectors suits an array of high-speed data, telephony, and CompactPCI applications. The devices may be specified for use in transmission systems, industrial computer boards, basestations, and test and control equipment. The 8+2-row by 25-position headers provide up to 220 signal contacts evenly distributed on a 2-mm grid. The connectors connect daughtercards and backplanes. They also feature UL approval and meet or exceed all the requirements of the IEC 917 and IEC 61076-4-101 industry standard. Their press-fit design provides a reliable, gas-tight connection to the pc board. A variety of standard pin lengths and configurations are available. While nonshielded versions are offered, a broad range of shielding options are available for applications where crosstalk control and EMI protection are needed. The Type E vertical male connectors cost $6.90 each in quantities of 100.
