6250 MHz CRO Slices Down Phase Noise And Harmonics

Aug. 23, 2011
Claiming lower phase noise and significantly lower harmonics than comparable components, Crystek’s CVCO55CXT-6250-6250 coaxial resonator oscillator (CRO) integrates a proprietary frequency doubler to make good on those claims.

Claiming lower phase noise and significantly lower harmonics than comparable components, Crystek’s CVCO55CXT-6250-6250 coaxial resonator oscillator (CRO) integrates a proprietary frequency doubler to make good on those claims. In addition to lower phase noise and harmonics, it trims down current consumption. Operating at 6,250 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc, the coax VCO specs a typical phase noise of -100 dBc/Hz at a 10-kHz offset and an output power of 2 dBm into a 50? load at an operating voltage of 8 Vdc with a maximum current consumption of 35 mA. Other features include an industry-standard 0.5” x 0.5” package, pushing and pulling at 1.5 MHz/V and 0.5 MHz, respectively, and a second harmonic suppression of -30 dBc.
