Only a crystal is needed for the MAS9275 voltage-controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) IC and its high-level linearity. The VCXO features a very wide pulling range of 100 ppm/V. Phase noise is less than −130 dBc at 1 kHz. The MAS9275, which operates up to 36 MHz, is a good fit in set-top boxes, GPS receivers, mobile phones, and other RF devices. With a supply-voltage range of 2.5 to 5.5 V, the VCXO draws only 2.3 mA at 2.8 V. It comes in die form or in the compact MSOP-8 package. In the MSOP-8, pricing is $1.79 each in 1000-unit quantities.
