Vision Sensors Detect Unlimited Color Variations

May 22, 2007
The PresencePLUS COLOR vision sensors from Banner Engineering recognize an infinite number of color variations, and they come in two convenient package options.

Banner Engineering Corp.’s PresencePLUS COLOR vision sensors can be programmed to accurately inspect for an infinite number of color variations. The sensors come in two package versions: the two-piece Pro COLOR model has a separate DIN-mountable controller, and the one piece P4 COLOR OMNI is available in both inline and right-angle configurations. The Pro features a compact camera with separate DIN-mountable controller. Sealed Pro model cameras are IP68-rated for challenging industrial and wash-down environments.

The sensor systems inspect for the specific color taught to the sensor with the Color Match tool. In addition to the Color Match tool, all models come with a powerful suite of gray-scale tools, including Locate, Pattern Find and Count, Geometric Find and Count, Edge, Object, Blob, and Average Gray Scale. The sensors feature a CMOS color imager with a 752- by 480-pixel resolution. They come with the PresencePLUS universal software, which allows a three-step point-and-click setup. Ethernet, serial, and flexible discrete I/O capability allow direct connection to Ethernet/IP and ModbusTCP industrial networks. ActiveX utilities are used to export inspections, images, and results. The sensors operate on 10 to 30 V dc.
