Xilinx's Virtex FPGAs are now available to designers using the company's Rapid Prototyping System (RPS), whose users can also license the portfolio of standard and advanced function Virtex IP cores from Xilinx. The RPS's modular architecture is suited for SOC designs that contain multiple IP cores and software content, with the RPS now also supporting commonly used cores from the Xilinx LogiCore program, facilitating software integration and system verification. Virtex IP cores may be licensed from Xilinx—additional IP cores like PCI, DSP, Reed Solomon, HDLC, ADPCM and POS PHY can be individually licensed based on design needs. To obtain Xilinx development software and cores, visit xilinx.com and select Purchase/Software Tools & IP. The CoreBoards are compatible with Windows NT software and are available for UNIX-based workstations.
