Energy cost savings, improved performance, increased reliability and extended product life are just some of the benefits of two new motor controllers- the SO160090-100A and the SO170090-050A- which control the speed of 0.5-hp single-phase induction motors in OEM pump, compressor and fan applications. The devices, part of the firm's Digi-Drive series, interface with virtually any control input, use the firm's proprietary microcontroller and software algorithms and include analog, digital and power electronics.The "SmartCom" products are customizable and integrate easily into existing and new single-phase motor applications. Control logic, proprietary microcontroller, high-voltage semiconductors, gate drive circuitry, overcurrent detection/shutdown, dc bus capacitor, and protection circuitry are all provided.
