The Centellis 8840 from Artesyn Embedded Technologies is an AdvantcedTCA (ATCA) open-standard server system with up to 160 Gbits aggregate bandwidth capacity, with future plans to 400 Gbits. The system integrates 100 Gbits ATCA technology into a NEBS-ready platform, allowing network equipment providers and carriers developing SN/NFV network security and optimization to use deep packet inspection techniques. A QuadStar backplane architecture provides support for four independent networks. Users can achieve an aggregated system bandwidth of 1.6 Tbits/s with no redundancy. When 100 Gbits switches and processor blades become available, the QuadSatar technology can enable up to 4.0 Tbits/s aggregate system bandwidth in a non-redundant implementation using the same chassis and backplane.
