Addressing Energy Star 4.0 requirements, the EN5322QI 2A buck-mode dc/dc converter employs the company's inductor technology to boost power density. Self knighted as the LDO killer, the device serves as a replacement for inefficient linear regulators. Available in a 6 mm x 4 mm x 1.1 mm QFN package and requiring one input and one output ceramic filter capacitor, the converter integrates MOSFET switches, control and compensation, and the inductor. Input voltage ranges from 2.4V to 5.5V and output range is from 0.6V to 3.3V. Also, the EN5322QI is capable of sourcing 2A continuous over an industrial temperature range. Sampling now, price is $2.23 each/1,000. ENPIRION INC., Bridgewater, NJ. (908) 575-7550.
