Combining an ultracapacitor with a lithium-ion battery, the company’s hybrid capacitor achieves an energy density of 12.8 Wh/L, 115% higher than standard electric double-layer capacitors. Life cycle is in excess of 20,000 charge/discharge cycles and operating temperature ranges from -25°C to +60°C.  At the low end of the range, the hybrid capacitor loses only 5% of its energy while comparable battery energy loss would be 50% or more. Additionally, Ioxus hybrid capacitors are 90% to 95% efficient. IOXUS INC., Oneonta, NY. (877) 751-4222.
