The SPUSB1 upstream USB 1.1 port-protection network integrates electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection (up to 30 kV) and electromagnetic interference/radio-frequency interference (EMI/RFI) filtering in an ultra-small, six-lead SC70 package. The device is available with 12-, 22-, or 33-Ω resistance values tailored to match the USB controller resistance and cable impedance. In addition to ESD protection, the SPUSB1 provides 15-kV direct discharge protection per IEC 61000-4-2. It incorporates a low-bandpass filter that attenuates electromagnetic energy in accordance with the USB 1.1 specification. The SPUSB1 series is available in tape-and-reel packaging. Models in this series cost $0.28 each in 10,000-piece quantities.
