Providing a safe and effective means for local control to mitigate the arc-flash danger in circuit-breaker operation, the company’s Time Delay Control Switch Relay (TD-CSR) relies on a manually initiated time-delay trip or close operation that incorporates a flashing LED to notify the operator of a pending trip or close operation and to evacuate the arc-flash area. SCADA operation is not necessary. To avoid inadvertent operation, the control pushbuttons provide a time delay feature requirement that may be depressed for four continuous seconds to activate the 10s delay. Other delay time options are available. Additionally, the unit’s intuitive pushbutton design promises to simplify personnel training and no special wiring is required for installation. Prices start at $1,489 each. ELECTROSWITCH CORP., Weymouth, MA. (781) 335-5200.
