Organized as 4 Mb x 16 bits, the M58CR064 64-Mb flash memory chip supports both asynchronous and synchronous read operations. In synchronous mode, data can be read on every cycle of a 54 MHz clock and the chip is available with random access times of 85 or 100 ns. Typical programming time is 10 µs per word. Other features include a burst mode, dual bank read and programming operations, 1.8V operation, and block-level erasing and locking. Available in a TFBGA5 package, price is $15 each/10,000.
