With a focus on peripherals a plenty, the company enlarges its eight-bit enhanced mid-range core MCU portfolio with the low-cost PIC16F1516/7/8/9 and PIC16F1526/7 (PIC16F15XX).

EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE, MAY 2011 – With a focus on peripherals a plenty, the company enlarges its eight-bit enhanced mid-range core MCU portfolio with the low-cost PIC16F1516/7/8/9 and PIC16F1526/7 (PIC16F15XX). The devices provide a wealth of peripheral interfaces, i.e., two each of EUSART, I2C, and SPI ports. Billed as general-purpose MCUs, they feature eXtreme Low Power (XLP) technology to enable sleep currents down to 20 nA and active currents less than 50 mA/MHz. Other features include 5V operation and an integrated 10-bit ADC with up to 30 channels.
