A new 2.4 GHz sub-compact outdoor antenna has been designed for wireless communications. The MD24-12 is a mini-directional, high gain antenna. It comes in an ultra-small, aesthetically pleasing package giving users both low profile and low wind loading advantages. With a concern for the visual impact of antennas in the environment, the unit was designed to blend well in almost any environment. Applications include 2.4 GHz wireless local area networks, and operation as an 802.11b/g client antenna. The MD24-12 has an operating frequency range of 2,400 to 2,483 MHz, with 12 dBi gain. A bulkhead Type N female connector is included and vertical or horizontal polarization is made through simple predetermined positioning of the mounting bracket. The antenna measures 4" x 4" x 4" and weighs 13.5 oz. Operating temperature range is –40°C to +70°C. Built for long-life performance, this rugged and weatherproof antenna is constructed of light gray-colored UV-resistant ABS plastic with an aluminum backplate. It includes a stainless steel mounting bracket capable of ±15° tilt adjustment. With the stainless steel mounting bracket, hardware corrosion is of little concern. All antennas carry the company’s two-year warranty. Pricing starts at $25.46 each/100. PACIFIC WIRELESS, Draper, UT. (801) 572-3024.
