Thin Film Resistors Lower TCR, Improve Tolerance

March 31, 2011
Enhancements to the PLT series thin film resistors include tolerances down to ± 0.01% and a TCR of ± 5 ppm/°C.

Enhancements to the PLT series thin film resistors include tolerances down to ± 0.01% and a TCR of ± 5 ppm/°C. Other features include performance of 500 ppm at +70°C for 10,000 hours, operating temperature range from -55°C to +125°C, 0603, 0805, and 1206 case sizes, resistances from 250Ω to 100 kΩ, noise figure of less than -30 dB, voltage coefficients of 0.1 ppm/V, and power ratings from 150 mW to 400 mW at +70°C. Pricing varies by tolerance and case size, i.e., a resistor with a tolerance of ± 0.1 % in a 1206 case costs $4.27 each/1,000. VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY, INC., Malvern, PA. (619) 336-0860.
