I always wonder why EV's are so expensive. By all rights they should be cheaper than a similarly sized ICE car. There are fewer moving parts. Sure, the battery is a big chunk of the cost, but there is no ICE motor, no transmission. Electric motors are the wildcard...
What would be very interesting is to take an electric car apart like is done with electrical devices, and figure out what everything costs.
