Capacitive Touch-Screens Resist Scratches And Abrasion

June 1, 1999

Thanks to a proprietary glass surface treatment, ClearTek 3000 Series touch-screens offer superior durability against scratches and abrasion, it's claimed. The capacitive screens are enhanced versions of a line of units that's already popular among manufacturers of public-access devices, including kiosks, ATMs, gaming machines, and seat-back entertainment systems. Independent laboratory tests are said to show that the ClearTek 3000 touch-screens are at least 210 times more durable than standard versions, making them virtually impervious to scratching from everyday objects such as coins and keys.
