Subminiature Fuse Protects Against Overcurrent In HV DC Apps

Jan. 21, 2013

Overcurrent conditions that can plague high-voltage dc applications may be remedied with Littlefuse’s latest subminiature fuse. The 808 Series TE5 Fast Acting fuse is rated at 250 V ac/450 V dc. Its high interrupt rating/breaking capacity (up to 10 kA at 450 V dc) ensures that it will open safely under high fault currents. Operating temperature ranges from −65 to 125°C. The fuse is 100% RoHS-compliant and is halogen- and lead-free. Tape and ammopack, short-lead, and 7.5-mm pitch packaging options are available. The low-profile device supports high-voltage dc power architectures for state-of-the-art, high-efficiency datacenters. Other applications include dc-dc converters, transformer-less ac-dc circuits, dc power supplies, adaptors, and telecom/datacom central offices.
