Designed for taking measurements from 100 kHz to 3.0 GHz, the MS2711B handheld spectrum analyzer includes preamplifier and tracking generator options. With the preamplifier option, the analyzer can easily measure signal levels down to &8722;115 dBm. The tracking generator is suited for tuning cavity filters, adjusting repeater gain, and aligning antennas. The MS2711B takes one-button measurements on AMPS, TDMA, CDMA, and GSM basestations. Also, it can conduct a series of spurious measurements when analyzing a wireless basestation transmitter. The analyzer integrates a field strength mode to measure propagation and coverage or to pinpoint electromagnetic leakage in broadcast systems. The MS2711B costs $7000 with delivery in three to four weeks. The preamplifier and tracking generator options cost $795 and $2500, respectively.
