Detection system isolates events as short as 50 ns

The Intermittent Fault Detection and Isolation System (IFDIS™) continuously and simultaneously monitors every electrical path in a UUT while it is exposed to a simulated operational environment. The IFD analog neural network circuitry can detect, isolate, and log an intermittent event as short as 50 ns.

The IFDIS includes an environmental chamber capable of subjecting a UUT to -100°F to 350°F, a 2,205-lbf vibration platform with a 2-inch peak-to-peak displacement, and 78-inch/s velocity. It also has a custom interface test adaptation that connects the IFD circuitry to chassis connections, a master control PC, color laser printer, uninterruptible power supplies, a shaker expander head, and master control software including UUT configuration and environmental stress profiles. The system is configured in 256 test-point increments.
