Newcombe joined Tektronix in early 2017 as its commercial president and has since been responsible for leading the company's global sales and marketing. In her new role, Newcombe will report to Pat Byrne, who previously served as president of Tektronix and is currently senior vice president at Fortive—Tektronix' parent company.
Newcombe brings 25 years of experience at Fortune 500 technology companies to her new role at Tektronix president, with a background comprised of positions in sales leadership, field sales, operations, marketing, and engineering. She came to Tektronix from Cisco, where as vice president for the company's commercial sales, she was responsible for a $1.5 billion business. Prior to Cisco, Newcombe held positions as a global client executive, sales engineer, product marketing engineer, and development engineer at Analog Devices and IBM.
Tami holds an MBA from Union College, as well as bachelor's degrees in electrical and bioengineering from Syracuse University.
"Tami is an experienced leader with a deep understanding of Tektronix' customers and products," Byrne said. "As commercial president, Tami delivered results, drove problem-solving and innovation and demonstrated a strong ability to attract and develop high performing, customer-obsessed teams. We're excited about the continued impact she will make at Tektronix."
This past January, Tektronix announced that Marc Tremblay had been appointed as its company president. However, his services were quickly needed elsewhere, as he has been named president of Fluke Corporation, another test and measurement provider in Fortive's portfolio. At Fluke, Tremblay reports to Wes Pringle, senior vice president of Fortive.
Newcombe and Tremblay's new roles are effective immediately.
