As one of the first software producers for manufacturing execution systems, Guardus Solutions AG (www.guardus.de) uses the new standard interface “Q-DAS ASCII transfer format.” This new quality data exchange format was crafted by the “Global Automotive Quality Data Exchange” working group. And the automobile industry has compiled a corresponding specification sheet. The companies involved in compiling the specifications included BMW, Bosch, DaimlerChrysler, Ford, General Motors Powertrain, Q-DAS and Volkswagen. A binding certification procedure for the data format will guarantee standardized software realization of the export interface.

In cooperation with the working group, Guardus has already released the new standard for its MES system. According to Guardus, the new data exchange format is already fully integrated in the manufacturing system.
