Best NYC race ever? All the action from Round 12!

This video is part of the TechXchange: Formula E Racing

If you were able to make it to New York a couple weekends ago, you had a chance to see Formula E racing. There were plenty of bumps and grinds as these electric cars were driven around the track in round 12 of the E-Prix.

Antonio Felix da Costa took first place, maintaining the pole position from the start. Mercedes-EQ's Stoofel Vandoorne pushed past Mahindra's Alexander Sims to take second place. Mitch Evans took third place with some interesting racing starting with a mid-race half-spin. The Jaguar TCS Racing car also hit a bump in the turn 6 braking zone, forcing Evans into fifth place. Sims held off Evans for most of the race but wound up fourth at the end.

The tour is using the Gen 2 Formula E cars. The Formula E Gen 3 cars were introduced this year and will appear in next year's E-Prix. The Gen 3 cars are 155 pounds lighter with new battery packs. Regenerative braking support has been increased from 250 kW to 600 kW. The rear wing was removed and the front is more narrow.
