Datest Completes Recertification Audit for ISO 9001/AS9100C

June 27, 2013. Datest, which offers PCBA testing, test engineering, and inspection services, announced that it passed its recertification audit for its dual ISO 9001/AS9100C Certification. With the recertification, Datest said it is now better equipped to serve the aviation, space, and defense industries with a quality-management system that has been accepted by the aerospace industry and that ensures compliance with risk management throughout the supply chain. Recertification has a term of three years, to July 2016, subject to annual surveillance audits.

The AS9100 quality standard is based on ISO 9001, adding requirements specific to the aviation, space, and defense industry. The dual recertification is a symbol of Datest’s ongoing quest to provide quality PCBA testing and inspection solutions.

Revision C is the fourth and latest release of the AS9100 standard, which takes in the revised requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and nearly 100 additional criteria specific to the aerospace industry. Revision C changes include greater focus on planning and project management, additional emphasis on risk management and mitigation, and the need to develop plans for continuous improvement of customer satisfaction.

“Recertification to AS9100C validates our efforts to better serve the high-reliability and military/aerospace markets,” commented Rob Boguski, Datest’s president. “The AS9100 Certification has opened many doors for Datest over the past three years. We expect that it will continue to hasten new and like-minded opportunities in the coming three years.”
