Offered as the end product of a licensing agreement with Duraswitch Industries, the company has incorporated PushGate magnetic technology in a line of pushbutton switches. Using the same name as the technology that powers them, the PushGate series sealed pushbutton magnetic switches are said to combine and improve on the best properties of mechanical and traditional membrane components. Reported features include a consistent, tactile feel that provides feedback for the life of the switch, even when buried beneath thick graphic overlays. These low-profile switches have a simple design that incorporates fewer parts and an extended overlay life, rated at over 420-million actuations in ongoing tests. Available in a variety of configurations, options include EMI/RFI shielding, backlighting and interchangeable overlays.
