With a typical efficiency of over 80%, the LT1932 has a fixed operating frequency of 1.2 MHz, allowing the use of low-profile inductors and ceramic capacitors while minimizing emitted noise. The device uses a 36V switch and delivers output voltages up to 35V to drive up to eight white LEDs wired in series. If more than eight LEDs are required, the chip can drive 16 LEDs in two parallel strings of eight LEDs each. With an input voltage from 1V to 10V, the device operates from a variety of input sources including one- and two-cell AA and Li-Ion batteries. Operating temperature ranges from -40ûC to +85ûC. The device is available in a six-lead ThinSOT package and is priced starting at $1.75 each/1,000.
