70W Buck-Driver Powers Long LED Strings

Nov. 21, 2011
Powering ever longer LED strings and larger multi-chip arrays, the RCD-48 Series step-down constant current source accepts an input voltage up to 60 Vdc and delivers constant current outputs of 350, 500, 700 and 1,200 mA.

Powering ever longer LED strings and larger multi-chip arrays, the RCD-48 Series step-down constant current source accepts an input voltage up to 60 Vdc and delivers constant current outputs of 350, 500, 700 and 1,200 mA. Pumping up to 70W of output power, the drivers are dimmable down to zero with external digital or analog control. The PWM control input directly connects to a microcontroller. Efficiency is 96% over an operating temperature range from -40°C and +85°C. The modules are available with pins for PCB mounting or with flying leads for non-PCB applications.
