Transistor Devices Inc.’s (TDI’s) 208Vac input Gemini series power system has been awarded NEBS Level 3 certification through MET Laboratories in Baltimore, Md. One of the most stringent equipment compliances to meet, the NEBS certification allows TDI to further meet customers' critical demands.

The extensive NEBS testing for the Gemini Power System included EMI/EMC, temperature, humidity, altitude, fire, earthquake, vibration, lightning surge, and power fault. The certifications issued by MET Laboratories conforms to Bellcore NEBS requirements GR-63-CORE, GR-1089-CORE, and GR-78- CORE, all which are recognized by the Regional Bell Operating Companies.

The 208Vac input Gemini DC power system is rated for up to 10,000A. The design is ideal for many high current –48V telecommunication applications. The power bays feature hot bus plug-in, switch mode, modular rectifiers with –48Vdc output rated at 100A with power factor correction.

Each power bay can be configured for seven rectifier shelves and one to 21 rectifiers. Additional power bays and power distribution bays can be added via hot bus at anytime to create between 2,000 and 10,000A power systems. The ac distribution boxes are configured for 3-phase inputs.
