From Tyco Electronics Power Systems, the PIM200 power input modules are designed to comply with the Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (AdvancedTCA) specifications, providing telecom equipment manufacturers with a complete power solution for their AdvancedTCA boards. The PIM modules are rated for 200 W of maximum output power with a wide input voltage range of -38 Vdc to -75 Vdc, suitable for both -48 Vdc and -60 Vdc power distribution.
The PIM modules incorporate all of the power management features required by the AdvancedTCA PICMG 3.0 specification. Features include inrush current protection, O-Ring functionality with MOSFETs, EMI filtering to Class B CISPR limits and hot-plug capabilities. A variety of fault protection functions also are provided. These include A/B feed-loss alarm, 8 W of auxiliary power for IPMI and house keeping functions, and input undervoltage, overvoltage, overcurrent and thermal protections. In addition, the PIM200 modules provide a charging current at 72 Vdc for external holdup/energy storage bulk capacitors to reduce real estate on telecom boards. Sized at 2.78 in. × 1.45 in. × 0.5 in., the modules provide 97% efficiency at -48 Vdc.
As AdvancedTCA continues to gain traction within the telecommunications industry, we are proud to further advance the market with the first AdvancedTCA-compatible power input modules," said Sabi Varma, vice president, marketing and R&D, Tyco Electronics Power Systems.
The PIM200 modules are priced at $41.20 for 1000-unit quantities. Samples are available now.
