Fairchild Semiconductor has deployed the RosettaNet-based quoting solution, enabling streamlined quoting between Fairchild and its distributors. The advanced solution will be demonstrated jointly by Fairchild and Wintech Microelectronics—one of the largest IC distributors in Asia—at the RosettaNet Global Partner Conference in Beijing, China, on April 21, 2005.
RosettaNet is a non-profit consortium of more than 500 world-leading organizations working to create, implement and promote open e-business standards and services. As an active partner, Fairchild's commitment extends to deploying RosettaNet solutions for design win registration, quoting and order management.
"Our goal in delivering RosettaNet-based quoting is to increase distributor satisfaction in choosing Fairchild—in essence, to make it easier to do business with us," said Eric Pannekeet, Fairchild's manager Corporate RosettaNet Development. "By working closely with Wintech, one of the leading distributors in Asia Pacific, we have delivered a much faster quoting process. Fairchild is one of the first suppliers to implement this new solution globally across Asia, Europe and North America. RosettaNet-based solutions are a key part of our strategy to increase global demand for our industry-leading power products."
Fairchild also is implementing the RosettaNet automated design win registration process to exchange information instantaneously with distributors through the RosettaNet B2B standard and to connect with Fairchild's FOCUS program. The solution tracks prototyping information and activity and provides Fairchild with improved visibility into customer design requests. Fairchild's FOCUS Design Registration program has been implemented since 2003 globally with key distributors, including Arrow Electronics.
