Power-One’s 46-A QTS48T46096 quarter-brick bus converter delivers just above 97% efficiency and employs advanced thermal-management techniques to achieve high performance at elevated temperatures. The converter delivers 95% of full rated power at 70°C with only 200 LFM airflow. The 5-to-1 fixed-ratio design also increases overall power-system efficiencies by providing a 9.6-V bus voltage (48-V input) that reduces the input/output voltage deltas of point-of-load devices.

Steve Goldman, Power-One's chairman and CEO, commented, "Our latest QTS product is another excellent example of how Power-One has applied advanced technologies to solve real-world problems. Our customers have told us that high power at 55°C only solves half their problems; they also need high power in their 70°C environments. Our response is a product that delivers 420 W at 70°C."

The QTS48T46096 operates from a regulated 36-V to 55-V input to provide a proportional 7.2-V to 11-V output. Other features include 1500-V input-to-output isolation, remote ON/OFF, no minimum-load operation, low conducted and radiated EMI, and an output-parallel option. Protection features include output overcurrent, input undervoltage lockout and input overvoltage shutdown. Regulatory agency approvals include UL60950-1/CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60950-1-03, TUV EN60950-1 and IEC60950-1. Pricing is $40 each in quantities of 1000 pieces.
